South Africa: First case of coronavirus disease (COVID-19)

National Institute for Communicable Diseases confirmed that a suspected case of COVID-19 has tested positive in South Africa

A 38 year old male patient  who recently returned from Italy with his wife and a group of 10 arrived back in South Africa on the 1st of march 2020. 

The patient consulted a private general practitioner in KwaZulu Natal on March the 3rd with flu symptoms where he was tested . He has been self-isolating since then and his results came back positive for COVID-19.
